The choice of the title of this issue was more difficult than usual. In the end, we chose an ironic reversal of the well-known expression ‘Philosophy for Children’, which became ‘Children for Philosophy’. What did we want to propose with this reversal? Certainly not a refusal in itself of the P4C in a strict sense. However, we want to clarify immediately that this is not a special issue on P4C: neither in its didactic session nor in its theoretical session. With the overthrow of the title we wanted to indicate ‘this’ first and foremost: like all issues of “Logoi”, this one has a thematic object/subject, and this subject is children. Children are, in this issue, at the center of the prism of languages (logoi). So, our question, first of all, is not ‘what can philosophy do for children?’ (Or: ‘how can you make the most of a philosophy for children?’) But: ‘what happens to philosophy (and art, cinema, literature, theatre, music) when it reflects on children?
La scelta del titolo di questo numero è stata più difficile del solito. Alla fine ci siamo affidati ad un ironico rovesciamento della nota espressione ‘Philosophy for Children’ (Filosofia per bambini), che è diventata: ‘Bambini per la filosofia’. Che cosa abbiamo voluto intendere e che cosa vogliamo proporre con questo rovesciamento? Non certo un rifiuto in sé della Philosophy for Children (P4C) strettamente intesa. E, però, questo ‘non è’ un numero monografico sulla P4C: né nella sua parte ‘didattica’ né tanto meno nella sua parte ‘teorica’. Con il ‘rovesciamento’ del titolo volevamo indicare innanzitutto questo. Come tutti i numeri di “Logoi”, anche questo fascicolo ha un oggetto/soggetto tematico. E questo soggetto sono i bambini. I bambini sono al centro del prisma dei linguaggi. E quindi la nostra domanda, innanzitutto, non è ‘che cosa può fare la filosofia per i bambini?’ (o: ‘come si può fare al meglio una filosofia per i bambini?’) ma: ‘che cosa accade alla filosofia (e all’arte, alla letteratura, alla musica, al cinema, al teatro) quando si interroga sui bambini?
