[IX, 22, 23] NIETZSCHE TODAYNIETZSCHE OGGI

Raphael’s Transfiguration has a central place in the Birth of tragedy, but the concept of ‘transfiguration’ was used by Nietzsche in all his works. I read the evolution of the term’s meaning through two works by Aristotle, the Aesthetic which influenced the negative fame of Raphael’s painting and the Rhetoric to which Nietzsche dedicated many pages of notes during the Basel years and which helped him rethink the importance of ‘metamorphosis’.

Se la Trasfigurazione di Raffaello ha un posto centrale nella Nascita della tragedia, il concetto di ‘trasfigurazione’, passando attraverso sfumature di vocaboli, è stato molto usato da Nietzsche in tutte le sue opere. Rileggeremo le evoluzioni di significato del termine anche attraverso due opere di Aristotele: l’Estetica che ha influito negativamente sulla fama della Trasfigurazione di Raffaello e la Retorica, a cui Nietzsche ha dedicato molte pagine di appunti durante gli anni di Basilea e che lo ha aiutato a ripensare all’importanza della ‘metamorfosi’.
