[IX, 22, 23] NIETZSCHE TODAYNIETZSCHE OGGI

In Nietzsche knowledge is conceived as embodied, as inseparable from the needs of life. If such embodiment, on one side, builds the basis for a critique of metaphysical truth, on the other side it runs the risk of completely dissolving the question of truth, thus pointing to a radical relativism (or perspectivism), with all the paradoxes it entails. But Nietzsche’s thinking offers other resources. The fact that the true world becomes a fable opens up the possibility for a different experience of truth, a tragic experience, in which truth identifies with the negative and the excess, in a way that recalls the ton pathei mathos of Aeschylus’ Agamemnon. Pathos brings knowledge because through it we discover our exposure: the overabundance of the phenomena urges human beings, undermining all their conciliatory or conclusive representations.

In Nietzsche la conoscenza viene intesa come incorporata, pertanto in relazione ai bisogni della vita. Se tale incorporazione costituisce da una parte la base per una critica della verità in senso metafisico, dall’altra rischia di dissolvere la questione della verità tout court, traducendosi in un relativismo (o prospettivismo) radicale, con tutti i paradossi che esso racchiude. Ma il pensiero di Nietzsche sembra offrire ulteriori risorse. Il divenire favola del mondo vero apre la strada per una diversa esperienza della verità, un’esperienza tragica in cui la verità si identifica con l’eccedente e con il negativo, all’insegna del ton pathei mathos dell’Agamennone di Eschilo. Il pathos apporta sapere perché in esso scopriamo il nostro essere-esposti: la sovrabbondanza dei fenomeni ci incalza, incrina ogni nostra conciliante o conclusiva rappresentazione.
