In its history, photography has always been theorized starting from the idea that it is a ‘language of images’ capable of reproducing a ‘portion’ of time and space. Nowadays the question of linear time is challenged not only by the precision of time measurement tools, but also by physics. So, we ask: how can we rethink the idea of photographic image? Through Benjamin, Barthes and Sartre the paper offers a short path of reconstruction of the relationship between photography and reality, starting from the classical interpretation.

La fotografia, nella sua storia, è sempre stata teorizzata a partire dall’idea che sia un linguaggio per immagini in grado di riprodurre una porzione di tempo e spazio. Oggi che la questione del tempo lineare viene messa in crisi non solo dalla precisione degli strumenti di misurazione del tempo stesso, ma anche dalla fisica, in che modo bisogna ripensare l’immagine fotografica? Attraverso Benjamin, Barthes e Sartre si offre qui un percorso breve di ricostruzione del rapporto tra fotografia e realtà, partendo dall’interpretazione classica.
