This paper redefines the relationship between Nature and Justice starting from the etymological and linguistic ties with which the ‘positive law’ and ‘justice’ of the Greeks and Latins (nómos / iura and díke / iustitia) are linked and distinguished: fundamental links with which these words were expressed in two different cultures to which we belong. Highlighting the need to seek some essential foundation that justifies and supports the authority expressed by the laws of the state in harmonizing the will of human beings to live to the fullest of their power with others, the article shows the most important need to connect the question on the ‘naturalness’ of the laws with a clearer idea of justice that through the laws themselves we intend to assume, pursue and implement.

Il saggio intende ridefinire il rapporto tra Natura e Giustizia partendo dai legami etimologici e linguistici con cui si legano e distinguono la ‘legge positiva’ e la ‘giustizia’ dei greci e dei latini (nómos/iura e díke/iustitia), legami fondamentali con cui queste parole si sono espresse nelle due diverse culture a cui siamo legati. Evidenziando la necessità di cercare un qualche fondamento essenziale che giustifichi e sostenga l’autorità espressa dalle leggi dello Stato nell’armonizzazione della volontà degli uomini a vivere al massimo della loro potenza con gli altri, la ‘lectio’ intende mostrare la più importante necessità di connettere la domanda sulla naturalità delle leggi alla ricerca di una chiara idea di giustizia che attraverso esse intendiamo assumere, perseguire e realizzare.
