[III, 7, 28/02/17] THE UNTIMELY. FROM NIETZSCHE TO USL'INATTUALE. DA NIETZSCHE A NOI

The nearness between Nietzsche and Schopenhauer is clearly as well known as his proximity to the hermit of Concord. However this essay wants to develop an in-depth study of the relationship that both thinkers had in the expansion of Nietzschean thought, in particular concerning the relationship between time and eternity. Therefore, this paper aims to present a preliminary explanation of the relationship between time, history and eternity in Schopenhauer, and its reception in the Nietzschean consideration of the ‘untimely’, before moving on to the Nietzschean interpretation of Emerson’s contribution to that concept. The paper concludes with a discussion of the effectiveness of how this is weaved into Nietzsche’s philosophy, in relation to the original position he assumed with regard to Schopenhauer and Emerson.

È senz’altro ben nota la vicinanza di Nietzsche a Schopenhauer ed altrettanto la sua prossimità all’eremita di Concord. Questo saggio, tuttavia, intende approfondire il rapporto che questi due pensatori, insieme, ebbero nell’elaborazione del pensiero nietzscheano, in particolare per quel che riguarda la questione del rapporto tra tempo ed eterno. Il presente saggio, quindi, intende orientarsi ad una chiarificazione preliminare del rapporto tra tempo, storia ed eternità in Schopenhauer e alla sua ricezione nelle inattuali nietzscheane, per poi passare alla interpretazione di questo rapporto in Emerson e all’influenza che questa ebbe per Nietzsche, in vista di un potenziamento derivante dall’accesso che il genio ha alla dimensione qualitativa dell’eternità; in conclusione si cercherà quindi di vedere la produttività di questo intreccio nella filosofia di Nietzsche, in relazione alla posizione originale che questi assunse rispetto ai due.
