[XI, 28, 25] SARTRE AUJOURD’HUI

The article opens with Sartre’s critique of Rousseau and Ponge, who promote a fusion of consciousness and the world. It then questions the Sartrian opposition between in-itself and for-itself by drawing on Deleuze and William James, who show how subject and object arise from a plane of immanence excluded by Sartre. The groundless in-itself gives way to a consciousness shaped by error and otherness, as in Michel Tournier, revealing the relational nature of being. Through Tournier, the author shows the impossibility of eliminating the other, confirming a reciprocal implication between consciousness, the other, and the world, giving rise to a totality in Sartrian terms. With Graham Priest, and beyond Bradley’s regress, the whole is seen as coinciding with its parts – suggesting, against Sartre, that the subject is a point of view of and on the whole.

L’articolo si apre con la critica di Sartre a Rousseau e Ponge, che promuovono una fusione tra coscienza e mondo. Successivamente mette in discussione l’opposizione sartriana tra in-sé e per-sé attingendo a Deleuze e William James, che mostrano come soggetto e oggetto nascano da un piano di immanenza escluso da Sartre. L’in-sé senza fondamento lascia il posto a una coscienza plasmata dall’errore e dall’alterità, come in Michel Tournier, rivelando la natura relazionale dell’essere. Attraverso Tournier, l’autore mostra l’impossibilità di eliminare l’altro, confermando una reciproca implicazione tra coscienza, altro e mondo, che dà origine a una totalità in termini sartriani. Con Graham Priest, e al di là della regressione di Bradley, il tutto è visto come coincidente con le sue parti, suggerendo, contro Sartre, che il soggetto è un punto di vista del e sul tutto.
